We’re also taking a break here at the Careers Service along with the rest of the University. We’ll be open right up until Friday 23rd December, but then we’ll be closed until Tuesday 3rd January.
However, if you start to feel a bit bored over the holidays, but can’t quite face revising for your exams just yet, then why not take the opportunity to explore your career options. Here are some tips on what you could do to kick start your career planning:
- If you’re in the early stages of thinking about life after University, then take a look at the ‘What jobs would suit me?’ section of the Prospects website. It can be a really useful tool in helping you to match your skills and interests to potential occupations.
- You could also search our Graduate Case Studies database to find out what graduates from your department have gone on to do after their degree. It offers a real insight into a wide variety of occupations and shows the careers routes that graduates have taken.
- We also have a range of online talks and DVDs available on our website to help you to explore your career options. There are talks on ‘Thinking Ahead’, ‘Researching Careers’, ‘Postgraduate Study’, and lots of others to get you started.
Enjoy the Christmas vacation and we hope to see you in the New Year.
