I wanted to get some part time work whilst at university not only for the incentive of money, but to gain some skills that would enhance my cv and aid me in finding a job after I graduated.
I used the university careers service vacancy finder to look for part time jobs in Sheffield, as well as looking in the student job shop in the union. I applied for some telephone interviewing work at the careers service, which led to working on the careers service reception. This has provided me with basic admin and reception skills that will be useful for whatever jobs I decide to apply for after graduation, as well as some extra cash!
