If you’re a final year student then we’re sure that you’re only too aware of the significance of the next few weeks. It’s your last Union Christmas Day tomorrow, your final festive nights out with your Uni mates, and your last bit of time off to look forward to before those final exams and that dissertation deadline. But did you realise that this Christmas is a key time to apply for jobs? Many large graduate employers set a 31st December closing date for their graduate schemes. So, if you’re graduating next summer, use the vacation to check out the employers that you’re interested in and make sure that you don’t miss out on the chance to apply.
Similarly, if you’re a 2nd or penultimate year student keen to get an internship for next summer, then make the most of the holidays to research what’s on offer – 31st December is often a key cut-off date for these opportunities as well.
Although the Careers Service will be closed for Christmas, myVacancies never closes and will contain lots of live vacancy information over the festive period. It’s a great way to gain access to hundreds of job vacancies – log into MUSE and click on the Careers tab.
