annually by NASES (National Association of Student Employment Services). One of
the top awards went to Isabelle Gessey, Isabelle is currently studying Physics

The Student Employee of the Year Awards is a national
competition that aims to recognise and promote the outstanding contributions
and achievements of students who combine part-time work with their study
commitments. Employers are asked to nominate their exceptional students
in three different categories; Above and Beyond, Step Up to Leadership and
Commercial Impact, these can be either working on or off campus. There is also
an employer award where students can nominate their employer.
Adam Greenwood - University of Sheffield won the Regional Employer award |
University
of Sheffield received 89 nominations this was our highest number ever received,
and was a mix of student and employer submissions. The University of Sheffield
received the highest number of nominations, more than any other institution
nationwide. This was a huge increase on last year and goes to show what amazing
work Sheffield students are doing alongside their studies.
In June
the Student Jobshop hosted their SEOTY institutional awards ceremony at Inox
Dine located in the Students’ Union where all nominees received recognition for
their hard work. Category winners and highly commended awards were announced,
closely followed by the announcements of the North East regional awards. Astonishingly
University of Sheffield students and employers were awarded 5 out of the possible
8 regional awards!!! These then progressed onto the national level of the
competition.
At the extravagant
national ceremony on 7th July the results were announced and
University of Sheffield students proudly received the following national awards;
